The first mechanized millet processing facility (unit – I) of the company was commissioned with an initial capacity of 10 tones of de-husked millet grains per day at Thirunagar, Paramakudi during 1992. With continued success and support from buyers, additional machinery and a new processing facility (Unit –II at Somanathapuram) were subsequently established during 2000 to enhance it’s overall processing capacity to 30 tons of polished grains per day for meeting the increased demands of north Indian consumers. From 2012 onwards, we process semi-polished, de-husked, and parboiled millet grains in addition to full polished grains in tune with the change in consumer preference towards fiber rich food products. With the objective of supplying millet food grains at lower price to every house hold in Tamil Nadu, apart from meeting the regular demands of wholesale buyers, the company has also ventured into retail business through direct marketing from 2017 onwards. Semi polished and parboiled grains of barnyard millet, little millet, kodo millet and foxtail millet are scientifically packed with extended shelf life and sold in the brand name “Millet India”.
